Nepal
In October 2006, ECC sent out Bhab Ghale as a missionary to Nepal a country situated in the Himalayan regions.
Bhab studied at the London Bible School for three years, after this time he felt called by God to return to Nepal as a full time missionary. Bhab and his wife Kumari and their daughter, Ichchha, returned to their native home of Nepal, where he set up United Vision Nepal (UVN) a mission office in Kathmandu called United Vision Nepal (UVN). The UVN team headquarters are fully staffed and hold regular seminars for church leaders and various projects, such as the seed training project (a farming and church planting project).
Vision
The UVN vision is to set up a prayer network where there would be continuous prayer for the country. UVN aims to plant churches in villages by transforming the lives and communities of local people, both spiritually and physically. These are done through many small projects across the country, that address the needs of people, especially in the rural areas of Nepal where there is no church. Projects
In addition to setting up of a local based mission office, UVN have been able to adopt Samichok village in Chitwan where a ‘Living Water Project’ has been completed. UVN helped to dig a well for drinking water and irrigation for the community. This dramatically improved the lives of poor, underprivileged and destitute people. The well now pumps up underground water by a pumping system and allows for rice planting in the lands that were dry and uncultivated. Bhab visits the village regularly to teach basic farming, how to make local water filters, compost production etc. By providing help and training UVN is enabling these communities to become self-sufficient, providing an ideal opportunity to share the Gospel. In Samichok, a church has now been established.
In March 2011 a team went out to Nepal on a sponsored trek to Everest Base Camp to raise money for a school building project for another village. The team successfully reached the Base Camp on the 11th March and the complete total raised came to approximately £37,000 over and above what was expected. God is our provider.
