Marriage Ministries 2=1
This is not a mathematical sum but the name of a Christian organisation that focuses on marriage and bringing up children. It was founded in America by a couple, Mike and Marilyn Phillipps, who had been separated and were on the verge of divorce. Through Marilyn’s prayers and the grace of God they came back together and by studying the Bible and applying God’s word, rebuilt their marriage.
The material in these courses is written by real people who have gone through hard times but have come out the other side. We highly recommend each of the three courses that 2=1 offers and know that by participating in this learning experience, if you allow it, your life will be enriched and you will draw closer to God.
If you are married and have children, you may not realise it but as Christians you and your family are a witness to your neighbours and work colleagues, friends and family. Premarital Discipling for Engaged Couples
Written and designed specifically for those couples getting married for the first time, this is an eight week course that examines the couple’s relationship and prepares them for their future together. It is not just a teaching but an interactive course that will encourage couples to talk about issues they may not have considered before.
You will find it challenging as God speaks to you, but you will also find it very exciting as you discover more about yourself, each other and what God has for you both in marriage. I would recommend this Course to anyone considering marriage for the first time.
MARRIED FOR LIFE
A thirteen-week Course for Married Couples
Marriage is one of God’s great blessings. It is an example of the relationship between Christ and His Church: a selfless, sacrificing, loving relationship. God designed it and God is passionate about marriage. He wants those people who are married to have happy, loving, exciting, open, transparent, Spirit-filled marriages.
Whether this describes your marriage at the moment, how it was at the start, how you desire it to be, or whether you have given up on your marriage, know for certain that it is God’s desire for every marriage to reflect His relationship with His Church.
This course will teach you how to have this type of marriage. Whether you have been married for one year or 50 years, this Course will enable you to enrich your marriage through God’s help.
It is a course for real people, it is very practical and it will be a blessing to you. The lessons learned in this course, if applied will not only change your marriage, but will bring you closer to God and allow you and your family to be witnesses to your community.
PARENTS FOR LIFE
A Ten-Week Course for Dads and Mums
Through your input into your children, you have the potential to touch not only them but whole generations. The key to healthy parenting is knowing God’s plan and co-operating with Him.
Through this course you will learn the importance of applying biblical principles in how you as a couple bring up your children. This truly is an eye-opening course.
Before going on this course I thought I knew a lot about how to bring up children. I was challenged and convicted and through the experience have become a better parent.
This course is exceptional and if you want God to speak to you about how to bring up your children this is the course for you. The good news is that it’s never too late to learn how to parent God’s way!
