Pastor John & Lynette Starr

john_lynette

John Starr studied at Durham and Southampton universities. He was ordained into the Anglican ministry in 1974 and subsequently received into the Elim Ministry in 1999.

He has pastored churches in both North and South of England and has led extensive leadership training programmes in Asia, Africa, South America and Europe.

In London, he led a renowned charismatic church and also founded a successful Ministry Training School, serving many churches of different traditions. Serving on the Mission to London Steering Committee, he pioneered the counselling ministry throughout the UK and on the continent.

In 1999, he was invited to join the leadership team of one of London’s largest churches where he helped pioneer a successful cell ministry, training hundreds of leaders for ministry in London and in many nations throughout the world.

In August 2004, he and his wife Lynette, were called of the Lord to church-plant, founding a new multi-racial church in West London. In February 2005, he received an invitation from a group of 50 pastors to plant a new Leadership Training School in Argentina, which is already experiencing great success.

Whilst continuing to run the new church plant, having now joined the staff at Ealing Christian Centre, two thirds of his time is devoted to ECC, where his remit includes overseeing the development of the church’s cell ministry as the basic unit for discipleship, evangelism and church growth, and enabling it to be the vehicle for carrying revival within and outside the church. Coupled with this is a comprehensive training programme for cell leaders and potential cell leaders, which began in September 2005 and is on-going.

The goal of the Senior Minister and church leadership is to see all cells become purpose-driven for Kingdom growth and multiplication, thereby fulfilling the Great Commission, by which the cell becomes the means whereby members are formed as disciples and disciple makers.

John, strongly believes in the “priesthood of all believers” and the call to “equip the saints for the work of ministry” and his desire is to see the 21st Century Church rise up in apostolic authority and prophetic strength to change the nations of the world for Christ.
