Further YouTube recommendations
Synthet
Songs about musical concepts and production techniques that utilise said techniques. Very cool stuff.
Project Studio Handbook
Detailed videos about how things actually work by a creepy guy. All of the videos are good but I can only stomach so much at a time.
Wickie Media
I recommend Audio Tutorials 1 - Dynamics. Good clear videos I just get fed up of the intro music.
Matt Mayfield Music
Not a lot of videos and a lot of them are included in the playlists above. There are some more that are more focused on sound sythenesis and production (electric keyboardness).
SoundGym
This is a great program that gamifies sound training. It breaks down various elements into individual games to hone your skills such as being able to identify frequencies, match compressor settings, and measure volume in dB. It is not something that can be easily recommended as it is £115 a year.
